Our Cast Iron Teapots Selected for Guest Rooms at Capella Kyoto

Date : 2026.07.14

We are pleased to announce that the original Cast Iron Teapots of T.NISHIKAWA & CO., INC. have been selected as in-room teaware for Capella Kyoto, located in Miyagawa-cho, Kyoto.

Rooted in the culture of the historic Miyagawa-cho district, Capella Kyoto offers guests opportunities to experience Japanese artworks and artefacts, traditional craftsmanship, and Kyoto’s performing arts. Our teaware has now become part of this distinctive setting, where Kyoto’s rich heritage and contemporary sensibilities come together in harmony.

The Cast Iron Kettle provided in each guest room combines the stately presence of a Nanbu cast iron kettle with a Kyoto Ware / Kiyomizu Ware lid, meticulously hand-painted by skilled artisans. Bringing together two distinct traditions of Japanese craftsmanship, it is a unique piece that embodies the spirit of T.NISHIKAWA & CO., INC.

During their stay, guests are invited to use the Cast Iron Teapot to prepare tea in the comfort of their room. We hope they will enjoy not only the flavour of the tea, but also the texture of the cast iron, the delicate hand-painted details of the Kyoto Ware / Kiyomizu Ware lid, and the quiet ritual of handling the teaware and preparing tea through all five senses.
